Hi! I’m Débora, a Brazilian illustrator and artist based in São Paulo, working across children’s publishing, commercial illustration and licensing.
I’m inspired by everyday life, its little details and unexpected moments, bringing them together with colorful characters, scenarios and a touch of fun! Always look for the smiling mushroom, he’ll probably be there.
I’ve worked for many years across illustration and pattern design, including running my own clothing brand, where I developed a love for creating colorful, playful characters and decorative worlds. I’ve also worked with Brazilian publishers and brands, creating illustrations for books and commercial projects.
Today, I’m particularly interested in picture books, packaging, pattern design and licensing projects that allow me to explore storytelling, characters and the small details of everyday life.
Outside of illustration, I’m very fond of cooking, inspired by growing up watching my grandmother and my family gather in the kitchen. I work from my home studio alongside my two dogs, Janis and Joplin, who are sisters and the sweetest company. I’m also a music festival enthusiast and a huge fan of cinema — from cult classics to horror movies, I’m all in!
My goal as an illustrator is to bring joy and color into fun stories, finding a little bit of magic in ordinary moments.
